Southampton County Fair August 7 - 10, 2019

EquiSmartz is the Virginia State competition for Hippology, Horse Judging, Horse Bowl & Presentations.  It is held in conjunction with the Virginia Horse Festival in Doswell.  The Britches & Boots 4-H Horse Club members practice on the 1st Friday of the month  to prepare.  This year our seniors partnered with Chesapeake for Horse Bowl placing 7th in the state!

March 24, 2018 - Horse Judging Clinic in Virginia Beach with clinician Chris Wynne.  After the clinic, we stopped at Chic-fil-a to enjoy  some food and fun!

Club members visited Dominion Equine Clinic after our meeting to learn about Fall shots, dewormers and the fecal egg count to determine if your deworming program is working. Great day!

Vet Clinic - September 10, 2016 Veterinarian Dr. Sarah Lowe discusses immunizations required for various facilities and how to take vital signs.  Club members learned how to take temperature, pulse and respiration.  They learned about digital pulse and capillary refill.
